I am thrilled with these blogs and find myself wishing I were a better blogger. They give me blogging shame and artistic covetousness :o) In spite of being a blogger simply because I have a blogging website. Sitting down to write an entry is not a natural act for me. I have a natural desire to blog, I go through the motions, however when I actually begin to type the words that I would like to share I have a mental block that frustrates the living daylights out of me. I can see what I want to say in this beautifully crafted way of putting things that makes the readers laugh and cry and want to come running back to see what I will have to say another time. In all actuality I think that my blog is a lot like me. Mildly entertaining, even funny at times (although difficult for me regarding the challenge of typing out sarcasm) but mostly just there and fun to keep up with just in case there will be a truly good OB nurse story or interesting life update.
My blogging style is often what MckMomma titles "Stream of Consciousness" when she just sits down and writes down everything that she is thinking and feeling and doing at that moment or in that day. Darn her for making it seem so lovely to be experiencing morning sickness with her 5th child while packing for a 2 week mission trip to Africa with the husband where she will be paid to hang out in the slums with little children and blog about it!!! No Lie! Her blog is so powerful that she was contacted by a ministry to travel and blog about it!
So in my stream of consciousness would you be interested in knowing that I denied my daughter breakfast this morning until after we were showered and dressed so that I could put on makeup while she had her bottle at 9:30? What kind of mother does that? The one who didn't plan her morning out properly and finds herself in a pinch of desperation.
I had an OB appointment this morning with my FAVE female in the group. I am in love with Dr Carol Choi and highly recommend her!
Annie was very good in the office but I want to figure out a way to not have to bring her with me, its just stressful and would be better if I could figure something else out. She was very protective of me and didn't want them to weigh me (who does?) take my BP or listen to the heartbeat. Mostly she didn't want them to touch me or she yelled at them :o)
I also had to go to Motherhood Maternity who has decent clothes at decent prices but I HATE dealing with the people who work there. They think they know everything, force you to try on things you dont want and I SWEAR they work on commission. PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE AND DONT PUT ANOTHER FULL PANELED PAIR OF PANTS IN A DRESSING ROOM AFTER I TOLD YOU NOT TO AND THEN PROCEED TO CALL THE ROOM "MINE". I DONT WANT TO TRY ON ANY OF THE CLOTHES YOU JUST PUT IN THERE THANK YOU VERY MUCH! They just want you to buy something you dont like so that you will have to return it under the worlds crappiest return policy! I ended up liking the pair of jeans that I picked out for myself (thank you very much) and was the only thing I went in for!
Now my day consists of laundry and making chicken enchiladas. Which my husband loves but I really dont care for. Do you have a chicken enchilada recipe that you like? Would you mind sharing it with me?

Katie- feel free to drop Annie off here for an hour or two while you go to your appointment. It's such a pain to take them, and we have lots of girls and girly stuff to play with.
My mom made these enchilladas once and I loved them so much I asked for the recipe, but haven't made them myself yet:

I don't think i am a good blogger.. but I enjoy it.. so what they hay!
Motherhood maternity does have a seriously bad return policy... seriously!

Im looking forward to Womens Bible Study.
DONE.. now I think I will work on my own longer stream of consciousness.
This is not the best I have ever had but they are really good and Dave loves them.
2 cups cooked chopped ch, 2 C montrey jack cheese, 1 small can diced olives, 2 tsp dried parsley, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper. Combine all and divide into 8 flour tortillas. Spray 9x13 pan and place seam side down. For salsa saute 1 med onion and 1/2 green bell pepper in 1 TBS oil till tender. Add 1 can green chilies, 1 15 oz can tomatoe sauce , 2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp sugar, 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Pour over tortillas and bake for 30 min on 350 degrees. Top with additional 1/2 C cheese and bake for 10 more mins.
Donna made this recipe for us while I couldnt cook and Dave feel in love with it. I make a big batch and freeze half of them. I serve with refried beans on the side.
Please make your doc appts on Fridays so I can have Annie.
My sister adapted this recipe from 2 or 3 different recipes and we really like them.
Amie's Chicken Enchiladas
8-10 medium sized tortillas
½ small red onion
1 small can sliced olives
1 small can diced green chilies
1 can green enchilada sauce
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (or more)
1 cup (or one can) chicken broth
1 lb. chicken (Amie uses pre-cooked rotisserie chickens from Sam’s Club)—one chicken is enough for 2 recipes
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a skillet sauté onion and when it’s soft add ½ the olives, all the enchilada sauce, all the soup, all the broth, all the green chilies, the chicken and ½ the cheese. Mix and let cook until warm.
Fill and roll tortillas and place seam side down in a 13x9 baking dish. Pour the remaining sauce on top. This recipe makes a lot of sauce, so you’ll have plenty to pour on top and it makes them nice and tender.
Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese and the olives. We tend to use more cheese than the recipe calls for☺.
Bake uncovered 25-30 minutes
