What I didn't plan was sneezing and wrenching my neck so badly that I spent 45 min in mind numbing pain. I've done this three times now. This was the worst of all! I felt like throwing up, I had muffled hearing for a few minutes. It was bad! I called the chiropractor and made an appointment blessing #1. He saw me immediately. I cried on my way there thinking about bringing the girls with me there was no time to drop them off anywhere. Blessing #2. It's 2 miles from my house. Blessing #3. The kind nurse lady offered to watch them for me. I cried off and on through the exam which I have never done before. They were so kind. It wasn't too painful it was just the anticipation of more pain when he adjusted me. Some parts hurt worse ham others but mostly it wast bad. I hate going to the chiropractor mostly because I think my body is such a mess it would take months of therapy to fix me and then years of follow up to keep it functioning and I hate that because it costs $30-40 every visit!!
I really wanted to still be able to bring dinner to my friend tonight so I opted for what I always have on hand, meat and potatoes. I went downstairs to grab the crock pot. I learned from a friend that you can cook a roast frozen if you use a crock pot all day... My sister borrowed my crock pot last week... Ok ill just figure out how to make it in my new Dutch oven. Ill defrost the meat while I'm at the dr.
It calls for onions (got em!) just cut in half (easier than dicing!) carrots(you don't even have to peel them!) fresh time (the only herb in my garden!) rosemary (I don't like it so I threw in bay leaves instead!) browned it all and threw it in together, put the lid on and in the oven it went! Ill add potatoes later!
The house is a mess! As I looked around other than the dishes it was all the girls stuff. "Girls time to pick up your toys!" I didn't lift a finger, just directed!! They needed a task anyway, they were beginning to act. UP!
Carly is now acting up big time, I look at the clock, glorious nap time already!!!!
I sat down on the couch to rest with ice packs and found http://www.assortmentblog.com/assortment/2013/10/on-making.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Assortment+%28Assortment%29
This link that made me smile and think of what a true blessing it is today. It says " Make something, I remind myself. Even in thinnest pockets of time, a stitch can be made, a row knitted, or just one or two sheets of cookies baked (and the rest of the dough chilled in the fridge until the next day). The time you have is good enough. The skills you have are, too. The space you have is just right. The supplies you have will work just fine.Make. Just make, and it will become something."
I love to make. It's my joy to make, create and provide and God has blessed me with many talents and things to create with. So in my pain quickly and very easily I created dinner with what I had, I cleaned my space with what I have, I text my husband and asked for prayer and the rest can wait.
This type of thing doesn't happen every day. Some days it's messy house, out of control children and pizza for dinner surviving until daddy gets home. But today is not that day. Today is sweet, and ill do my best to continue on keeping Him in the center of my frame of mind.
